Hello friends! Christa here! At long last, we’ve finally pulled our shit together enough put out the podcast. And by pulled our shit together, I mean Shawn’s pulled his shit together. I remain perfect and unwavering, like an American flag doused in dry ice.
Unfortunately, we’ve lost our venue due to the fact that is being bulldozed into a pile of rubble and turned into a parking lot. Progress! Not to worry though! We are hard at work searching for a new venue!
In the meantime, you can find the podcast at the link below:

Christa vs. Shawn EXTREME Bake Off: Cookie Dough Dip vs.
Animal Crackers
Now, Shawn has been pretty clever in the creatively themed foods department, but I think on this one he might have dropped the ball. While I enjoy animal crackers as much as the next person, they are not something I reach for in the time of crisis. They we’re pretty good to use with the dip though…
WINNER: Christa (Woo!)
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dip
Admittedly, this tastes almost nothing like actual cookie dough, however it is both delicious and really bad for you, so I think I’ve got my bases covered.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
3/4 cup semisweet mini chocolate chips
3/4 cup toffee bits
Things to dip!
graham crackers, pretzels, nilla wafers, ANIMAL CRACKERS or apple slices
Directions
1.In a small saucepan, melt the butter with the brown sugar over medium heat. Stir continuously, until the brown sugar dissolves. (You can also do this in the microwave but watch it closely. The butter/sugar mixture will boil over fast. Stir every 30 seconds or so.)
2. Remove from heat, whisk in the vanilla and set aside to cool.
3. Beat the cream cheese and confectioner’s sugar for 1 minute.
4. Slowly beat in the cooled butter mixture and beat again for another minute.
5. Stir in the chocolate chips and toffee bits, if using.
6. Pour into a serving bowl and refrigerate.
7. Garnish with additional chocolate chips or toffee bits.
8. Serve with graham crackers, pretzels, nilla wafers or apple slices.
Thanks to everyone that
came out!
