Stuff We Like: Allston Xmas

by Christa Weiss

Oh Allston, how I love you/hate you/never want to move back ever again! For those of you that aren’t familiar with Allston, a neighborhood of Boston, it’s the collegeist of college towns, complete with dive bars, drunk 18 year olds and squalid apartments filled with bed bugs. It’s also one of the most heavily rented areas in Boston and due to its proximity to several colleges, virtually everyone moves on the same day, September 1st. And it. Is. HORRIBLE.

To celebrate the horrible beauty/clusterfuck that is moving day in Allston, comedian and filmmaker Kenice Mobley collaborated with co-producer Melissa McVay and director, Jared Vincenti in the new 12 part web series: Allston Xmas. A great mix of comedy and drama, this series is a true to life showcase of life in Allston, the crazy living situations that accompany it, and growing up.

This week, we’ve posted part 1. Want to know more? Go to!
