As I write this I’m getting ready to fly back home to RI and am honored to be performing on the last show at Grandma’s Basement. Much like its all too brief life I’ll keep this eulogy short and sweet.
Grandma’s Basement was a comedy club built from the ground up by funny comedians and fostered amazing creativity and talent to those who performed there. I was able to be a part of so many great shows and saw a whole generation of fantastic comics come together and really turn that place into something special.
It will be missed, but lives on in the spirit of every weirdo, cynic, curmudgeon, loser, nerd, freak, asshole, pretty-boy, outsider, and lost wanderer who was lucky enough to grace it’s lobster-smelling doors.
